Arnica helps with pain, swelling and bruising, while silicone gel and strips aid in scar refinement and appearance. Arnica is available online and Silagen is exclusively sold through physicians.
For the DIEP flap reconstruction, we strongly recommend a fully automated recliner (lift chair) to sleep in for at least 6 weeks. If you do not already own an automatic recliner, you may find it helpful to rent one for the short time that it will be needed.
